International Air Arrangements:
Based on current airfares, the estimated cost of the group air flights is $1,600/person. Flight costs and details will be available in September 2023. Members are free to make their own flight arrangements. Group fares may be higher than airfares members can obtain on their own. The advantage of group airfares is that they typically allow for delayed payment, relaxed rules, and name changes after purchase.
Anyone wishing to deviate from the group itinerary, should make individual flight arrangements.
Please note that unless your individual travel plans coincide with the group, you are responsible for your own transportation to and from the airport and arrival/departure hotels. The domestic flight between Johannesburg and George is included in the land portion of the tour.
Trip Insurance:
In the event of a cancellation, without travel insurance, name changes are permitted with NHFC board approval. Substitutions are subject to airline and tour operator-imposed restrictions and fees at the time of request. While the NHFC will assist in finding a suitable substitute, it is the responsibility of the person cancelling to find a suitable replacement; gain board approval; and negotiate the cost. To protect other members from price increases, due to decreased enrollment, the cancellation policy will be strictly enforced.
Participants are urged to review their insurance requirements with their personal insurance agent or consider a policy available from Allianz Travel Insurance. Allianz provides coverage for cancelled and interrupted trips, medical costs, travel accidents and lost/stolen baggage. To review coverage options and to receive a price quote, call Allianz at 1-800-284-8300 or visit their website at www.allianztravelinsurance.com So that we can assist you in the event of a claim, when ordering from Allianz, please include F034456 in the Travel Agent ID field where indicated.
Health:
To meet the rigors generally associated with a concert tour and to enjoy the experience thereof, choral members and guests should be in good physical condition to meet late evening engagements, in addition to daytime sightseeing activities. Be prepared for considerable walking, at times over hilly and/or uneven surfaces. Please see the activity levels for excursions in the itinerary. For up-to-date health requirements and recommendations, travelers should check with their local health provider. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) maintains a website with current information for travel destinations: www.cdc.gov/travel.
Travel Documentation:
U.S. citizens must have a passport valid for a minimum of six months after departure. A visa for US Citizens is currently not required to visit South Africa or Botswana. A visa is required for Zimbabwe (which is on the extension tour) and obtainable upon arrival. The current price for the Zimbabwe visa is 30 USD.
